Not That I Need Another Platform Or Anything, But.....
... I decided to blog. I plan on creating a website where I can share my art and also blog, but I have been a fan of blogger for years and I love the community aspect of this portal.
Who am I?
I am Nobody. Although my name is the Latin version of Odysseus, I feel a certain kinship with my Greek hero namesake.
So, I am Nobody to you, my dear friend.
I am simply a salesperson and picture framer by day....and night!....and in the long nights of the witching hour I spin the web of my dream--to become an indie fantasy artist.
What is an indie (fantasy) artist?
We live in an amazing era. I launched a campaign on Kickstarter on November 8th, 2013. On December 8th it Failed To Fund. Through sheer luck, a digital fairy Godfather (one J.A. Ames, creator of www.vaporstarter.com) pledged on my dying first campaign. He offered to help with a relaunch. Being broke, I explained I could not afford to pay him for his services.
He said.....no charge.
Those two words started a collaboration and friendship that I will always cherish. I also found a mentor in David Delamare (www.daviddelamare.com) and a fairy godmother in his partner/manager, Wendy Ice--who also gave invaluable help with the new campaign.
When I lowered my goal from the unrealistic $5,750 (for a Nobody artist, such as myself) to a still lofty, yet attainable $2,220, I reached that sum in 48 hours.

This blog will be a place where I share other artist I have found and would like to share on Kickstarter and other crowd funding sites. I also would like to offer my insights into how artist can launch their own campaigns and find their way into the green.
Why?
Because I bekive our culture is on the cusp of an artistic Renaissance via crowd funding. The various platforms that offer code funding connect crestives with micro-patrons. I have formulated a theory that I call the Power of 500 (or 1,000....cut me some slack, the theory is still developing).
If an artist/writer/musician can cultivate 500 serious fans, they can work on their art full time. The days of the micro-patron are coming. It is an exciting time. And this blog will document my journey and I would love for you to be a part of it.......
